Commemorative Stamp Launch – Alcock & Brown Centenary
An Post – Ireland’s Postal Service will launch a commemorative postage stamp to mark the centenary of the first non-stop transatlantic flight in history. The historic flight from St. John’s Newfoundland to Clifden, Ireland was carried out by John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown.
The stamp is being officially launched in Clifden, Co. Galway Ireland, the landing place of the historic flight. Each year An Post produces on behalf of the Irish Government, a programme of special and commemorative stamps.
The stamp will be available for purchase in selected post offices. available in the GPO, Dublin, at selected post offices nationwide or online at irishstamps.ie
